Whilst the senior team are struggling, Arsenal’s u19 side are running amok in the UEFA Youth League making it 3 wins in 3 games with a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich this afternoon.
Facing their German visitors at Boreham Wood’s Meadow Park, Arsenal left it late with Iwobi opening the scoring in the 74th minute, before doubling his side’s lead in the 78th.
There are high hopes for the Nigerian forward who also happens to be the nephew of Bolton legend Jay Jay Okocha, and he did his reputation no harm with his opening goal, hammering a shot past Bayern’s hapless keeper form the edge of the box.
Included in the first team during the summer, it would be of little surprise to anyone if the 19 year old makes it into Wenger’s first team plans before the season ends!
