Whilst the Premier League is alight with transfers, Arsenal have been relatively subdued in the transfer market.
With Arsenal expected to provide the biggest challenge to champions Chelsea this season, the North London club have only signed goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Cech of course is a huge signing for Arsenal, solving a problem between the sticks that has plagued the Gunners since he departure of Jens Lehmann but fans have been left underwhelmed after being linked with a number of big names.
Wenger of course is the master poker player, impossible to read especially when it comes to transfer but if his words today ahead of Arsenal’s tour of the Far East are to be believed, Arsenal fans may be in for a summer of disappointment.
The Arsenal boss said:
“If we can find any player who can strengthen the squad then we will. We have strengthened the squad already and I believe part of the success of the team is down to the level of cohesion.
“We have a good level of cohesion and at the moment what is very important to our squad and myself is to see how we can move forward again.
“We feel that we moved forward last season but it’s not enough to think that’s okay, we have to move forward again. It’s much more important about the team now rather than finding the right player.”
