Arsenal’s hopes of signing Celta Vigo star Nolito have improved dramatically, with Barcelona seemingly out of the picture.
The 29 year old was bound for the Nou Camp in the summer but with the move failing to materialise it opens the door for Arsenal who have been keeping a keen eye on the Spanish international.
Celta Vigo are impressively sat in 4th place, ahead of Sevilla, Villareal, Valencia and Athletic Bilbao and Nolito is very much key to Eduardo Berizzo’s side’s success.
Nolito has goals against Sevilla, Barcelona, Villareal and Real Madrid this season and whilst Barcelona are still interested in him may not be able to afford him as well as already having Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal to come in to the team in January.
This leaves the door open for Arsene Wenger’s side who, whilst needing reinforcements in central midfield following injuries to Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, would welcome his arrival and the quality he brings.
The Daily Mirror report a move to North London could see his wages rise by a eye and mouth watering 250%!
