Paul Pogba has come in for some real stick since becoming the most expensive player in the world after joining Manchester United for £89m this summer.
With Jose Mourinho’s side’s indifferent form the finger has inevitably been pointed at Pogba, with some deeming his performance substandard because he isn’t scoring a screamer every game.
The midfielder then found himself coming in for some criticism from his international manager Didier Deschamps who claimed the former Juventus player needed to do more after French newspaper L’Equipe gave him a shocking 4 out of 10 for his performance against Bulgaria last Friday.
But with a game against Holland to come, Pogba had a chance to answer his manager’s criticism and did it in spectacular style.
With 30 minutes gone at the Amsterdam Arena, Pogba picked up the ball 30 yards out and rasped an effort past goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg who could only get finger tips to the shot before it hit the back of the net.
Pogba, normally all smiles and dances, simply looked around solemnly as if to ask his manager, “Is that enough?”
The goal, part of a Pogba masterclass, would prove the winner as France maintained their position at the top of Group A in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, but just because he didn’t celebrate on field, doesn’t mean there was no party!
This video, filmed in the carpark of the Amsterdam Arena, shows the 23 year old celebrating his winner with his brother and friends with some trademark dance moves!
