Alexis Sanchez has played with some of the world’s best players… and Olivier Giroud.
Formerly of Barcelona, a club who’s history has been enriched with players like Laszlo Kubla (Google that one kids) to Johan Cruyff to Lionel Messi, Sanchez knows greatness.
So when asked to do his all time XI by Arsenal you knew there were going to be some stellar names in there.
Of course there were places for the likes of Maradona and Pele, players considered the greatest to have played the game as well as Lionel Messi, who he played with and is forcing the argument for inclusion in that class.
But interestingly there was no place any Arsenal players past or present.
Now this is no indictment of Sanchez or to say he doesn’t love the club and will be moving, it’s just interesting because in this day and age we tend to see players pandering to their clubs and fans, scoring cheap points by doing something like adding a club great or legend.
Realistically his team is air tight anyway, who could he put in and where?
Interestingly the Chilean attacker states that Ronaldo, not Maradona or Pele, is the greatest player of all time!
