Football Fanzone is a football site with a difference.
Founded in 2014, we immediately sought to set ourselves apart from everyone else by giving our audience something that they couldn’t get anywhere else; “Insight From The Inside”.
With the likes of ex Chelsea and Tottenham defender Jason Cundy, former Charlton and West Ham manager Alan Curbishley, journalist Patrick Barclay and TV personality/betting expert Angus ‘Statto’ Loughran on board we aim to cover all aspects of the game be it news, transfer rumours or opinions pieces.
With our written content coming from the cream of the football blogosphere and our videos provided by our panel who meet monthly to discuss the issues in football that matter, make Football Fanzone your first stop for all your football needs.
During his extensive playing career, Jason Cundy played for Chelsea (1988–92, with 41 league appearances) and Tottenham (28 appearances) amongst a host of other teams. After retiring in 2000, Cundy joined Talksport, where he currently hosts the Sports Bar with Andy Goldstein. Cundy also regularly makes appearances on Chelsea TV as a pundit as well as numerous other media engagements. And now has brought his fiery, eyebrow raising and engaging style to Football Fanzone.
Patrick Barclay is an institution in British football media. Having written for most of the major newspapers, including The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times, The Daily Mail and London Evening Standard, Patrick has also written acclaimed biographies on both Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho. Barclay doesn’t only ply his trade in print, but also on screen and has regularly featured on Sky to give comment and insight on developments in the game as well as radio. One of the brightest minds in British football journalism, Patrick’s insight into the game is much welcomed at Football Fanzone.
After a career that saw him play for West Ham, Birmingham, Aston Villa and Charlton amongst others, Alan Curbishley made the move into the dugout. The former midfielder oversaw Charlton’s dramatic promotion into the Premier League in 1998 and despite being relegated in 1999, he saw Charlton again promoted into English football’s top flight where he consolidated their place there before leaving, having been in charge for 729 games. After a spell out of the game Curbishley moved across London to manage West Ham, where he most famously masterminded West Ham’s stay in the Premier League in 06-07, with 7 wins out of their last 9 games including a win over Man United at Old Trafford. Curbishley resigned in 2008 after differences with the club’s owners and, bar a brief spell at Fulham in 13-14, has since worked largely as a highly respected pundit for the likes of Sky, Al Jazeera, Talksport and now, he has brought his expertise to Football Fanzone.
