Having confirmed the signing of Nicolas Otamendi yesterday, Manchester City will further consolidate their position of power atop the Premier League table with the signing of Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian is on the verge of signing for the Manchester club according to German paper Bild, who claim he will make a huge €20m a year upon completing his transfer to The Etihad.
There was a scare earlier in the week when De Bruyne was coerced into claiming that he would be staying with Wolfsburg this season, but his agent furiously rejected the notion claiming that his client had been taken advantage of.
The Sun claim the £50m deal could be wrapped in the next 48 hours and with the capture of Otamendi, it would be hard for you to see anyone else winning the title.
City have had an impressive window already strengthening across the board, fears of weak backline have been allayed with the signing of Otamendi, Fabian Delph will add energy to a midfield that looked lethargic at times last season whilst Raheem Sterling and De Bruyne will help create and score an abundance of goals, easing the pressure of Sergio Aguero.
So whilst rivals Man United drown in the transfer market, City are flourishing and have made a break for the shore to capture the title for a third time.
